Legends like Nicolas Vouilloz and Anne Caroline Chausson were dominating the Downhill scene, while a young Aaron Gwin was just starting to dream of future glory. Meanwhile, in the Pinzgau region, a group of visionaries faced an uphill battle. With only four lines and a healthy dose of skepticism from locals, the park's future was far from certain. Inspired by a concept from MTS and fueled by the passion of Martin Samek, the idea of a bike park in Leogang slowly gained traction. A visit to Bikepark Geisskopf in Germany sealed the deal, and with funding from the Leogang cable car company and a group of local investors, the project was born.

Kornel Grundner, CEO of Leoganger Bergbahnen, recalls the early days with a mix of pride and humility. "It wasn't easy," he admits. "We had to convince skeptics, overcome obstacles, and target a completely new audience." The 25th anniversary celebrations will culminate in a grand community event from July 24th to 26th, alongside the return of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series in June.
